In the contemporary era, with the growing advancement of linguistics and literary criticism, analysis has transcended the word and sentence level, moving towards examining the entirety of a literary work and narrative text. Various theories have been proposed in this regard, among the most important and widely used of which is Michael Hoey's "Problem-Solution Approach," a sub-category of text linguistics. This theory comprises four key components: Situation, Problem, Response, and Evaluation. Although applicable to all texts, both narrative and non-narrative, it proves remarkably effective for analyzing novels, particularly those addressing significant social issues and fundamental societal challenges, given the novel's social genre. This article, employing a descriptive-analytical method, aims to discuss and examine Zahra Abdullah's Syrian novel "Ali Ma'idat al-Qaeda" based on Michael Hoey's Problem-Solution Approach. It investigates the novel's capacity to present the issue of Yazidi women being subjected to violence by ISIS members and the responses it offers to readers in this regard. The article concludes that the rape and assault of Yazidi women, one of ISIS's greatest crimes, constitutes the fundamental problem in the aforementioned novel. The author portrays the horrifying situation and its dreadful dimensions, as well as responses such as suicide, escape, etc., which mostly lead to negative evaluations. In every situation resulting from the emergence of ISIS and its systematic acts of violence, actions or counter-actions were taken, which can be considered an attempt to escape the crisis or assert one's opinion and belief.
