Abstract

Narrative discourse analysis with a holistic approach is one of the branches of discourse analysis. Narration is one of the most important and main elements in narrating a story or telling an incident, which is in the sense of narration science or narrative theory. Gerard Genet is one of the theorists. This study tries to study the content of the novel "Bab al-Tabashir" by the Iraqi novelist Ahmad Saadawi in a structure-oriented format and by emphasizing the most important issues of narrative discourse mentioned by the genet of the French structuralist theorist. The main purpose of this article is to examine the three elements of time, face and tone as narrative techniques and also their function in depicting Ali Naji's anonymity, the hardships and problems of Leila Hamid and the world of the current Iraqi people and the emergence of Ali Naji. As a savior against the Iraqi people, relying on the seven Sumerian spells in the form of a surreal-fictional story, in addition to discovering its narrative techniques, it leads the reader to think about the identity of Ali Naji, the problems of Leila Hamid and the Iraqi people. And familiarize them with their position on the limitations of personal and social life. The method of work in this research is descriptive-analytical and by focusing on Genet's book, an attempt has been made to answer the question to what extent narrative discourse has been able to reflect the author's mental conflicts about Ali's main identity, Leila and people's problems. Iraq and Ali Naji's savior succeed? Timelessness, creating jumps and breaks in the story, dual focalization, highlighting or diminishing the role of Ali Naji in different positions of the novel, and moving the time to achieve a kind of synchronicity between the novel and the narrative verb are some of the most important narrative techniques in this. Novels have been used.
