About the Journal
Arabic Prose Studies is an academic journal in the field of Arabic language and literature published quarterly by the University of Qom. The journal aims to promote scholarly research on Arabic prose texts and to support academic studies related to the analysis, interpretation, and critical examination of Arabic prose as well as comparative studies between Arabic and Persian prose.
The journal seeks to provide a scholarly platform for researchers, academics, and graduate students working in the field of Arabic language and literature to present their original research and exchange academic perspectives. Articles published in the journal are written in Persian and include abstracts in both Arabic and English.
Arabic Prose Studies was established in 2023 (1402 SH) and publishes original research articles following a scholarly peer‑review process.
Aims and Scope
The primary focus of Arabic Prose Studies is the scholarly study and analysis of Arabic prose texts. The journal welcomes original research articles in areas including:
Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening before being evaluated through a double‑blind peer review process. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation.
The initial editorial review is usually completed within seven days. The peer‑review process is conducted by at least two expert reviewers, and the average review period is approximately 45 days.
Open Access Policy
Arabic Prose Studies is a fully open access journal. All articles published in the journal are freely available online immediately after publication without any subscription or access restrictions.
The journal follows internationally recognized principles of open access publishing, allowing readers to read, download, distribute, and share articles provided that proper citation to the original source is given.
Copyright and License
Articles published in this journal are distributed under a Creative Commons (CC BY‑NC) license. Under this license, the use, distribution, and reproduction of the work are permitted provided that the original source is properly cited. Authors retain the copyright of their work and maintain full control over the reuse and distribution of their articles.
Publication Fees
Arabic Prose Studies is an open access journal and does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, acceptance, or publication.
Plagiarism Screening Policy
To ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts, all submissions are screened for textual similarity before entering the peer‑review process. Persian manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection systems including IranDoc Similarity Check and SamimNoor. English abstracts may also be examined using plagiarism detection tools.
Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism or violations of publication ethics will be rejected.
Publication Ethics
Arabic Prose Studies adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and for properly citing all sources used in their research.
